22 Aug 5 Fun Facts About Bryce & Stefanie

Yes, it is Monday. Sorry.

Today, I had planned on writing a *super informative* post on ways to “Win Monday”. Do these things to get your week started on the right foot, boost your productivity, yada yada. But, part of making a week successful is taking a moment to focus on anything but the productive stuff. Everyone needs that few minutes to take a breather, right? (Especially on a Monday!)

Instead, I decided we’d start the week off on a funner (don’t correct me!) note, and share a few fun facts about Bryce and I! Truly, we all know a lot about each other, but it’s usually just the stuff we want people to see. If you know me, though, you know I’m always up for a laugh or an interesting fact. Here’s a few (fun!) things you may or may not know about the two of us. Enjoy!

1.) We have always worked in the same place. Since we met, anyway, Bryce and I have always worked together. The last five years on our resumes are basically identical. When we were in finance, we worked at a stock brokerage, then a major consumer credit firm (you probably have a few of their products!), then we got into real estate together. So, we really don’t know what it’s like not to work under the same roof, anymore!

2.) Bryce and I had very different high school experiences. Bryce has lived in Phoenix his entire life, and went to the same elementary school, middle school and high school with all of his friends! I always envied the relationships he was able to grow because of this. Me, on the other hand — I went to 5 different high schools, AND graduated early! Suffice it to say, I did not love my high school experience.

3.) We have four dogs. And no, it’s not weird. Years ago, Bryce rescued a stray off the street and welcomed her into his home. A few weeks later — SURPRISE! — little Jack had puppies! Bryce re-homed two puppies, begrudgingly (they were so cute!), and kept the other two. Mama Jack, Cupcake and Colby were a happy family of three until two years ago, when we rescued little Roosevelt! The four pups get along great and we couldn’t imagine a life without them. We always try to pick up strays off the streets, and have reunited many with their owners over the years.

4.) Bryce is a picky eater, but I’ll eat anything. There was a time in our relationship where I wouldn’t cook a simple filet of salmon because Bryce hated the idea of fish that much. Mushrooms? Nope. Foreign vegetables and certain legumes? Not on his plate! Any form of sea life? Nice try. To be fair, he’s gotten MUCH better at trying new foods, and even eats sushi from time to time! I, however, will eat anything, anywhere, prepared any way. Beef tartar? K. Liver pâté? Sure! The only thing I will refuse to eat — like, “throw a fit” refuse — is mayonnaise. Long story.

5.) We drink wine on Football Sundays. Football is a cherished ritual in our house. Our good friend, Matt, comes over each Sunday. We grill steaks, I bake something sweet, and we pop open a couple bottles of good red wine. Seriously, you will almost never find us with a pack of Bud (not only because it’s disgusting); we cheer (scream) over cabernet-filled Riedel for the Cardinals every Sunday of the season!
