16 Mar Never Pay Full Price for Furniture: Shop Here Instead
Where to Find Unique and Affordable
Furniture and Decor
With the home buying season comes furniture buying season — and boy, can it be pricey! When it comes to furniture shopping, there’s nothing better than scoring a deal on a great vintage piece or another rare find, but sometimes it’s the hunt for that next best deal that is the most fun of all!
The thrill of finally finding that perfect item, marked down — sometimes twice! — is an amazing feeling. Getting creative and shopping purposefully can become addictive, especially when done successfully. Since I know I’m not the only one around here who loves a good furniture find, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite go-to’s where I can always count on finding unique and affordable furniture and decor!
Chairish
If you only consider one option on this list, check out Chairish! Chairish is a favorite for furniture, where you can find great pieces by all the best designers for the very best prices. This site was made for bargain hunters, so you can find great deals on even the smallest budget. Head straight to the sale section for the most recent discounts, and even search by price to view items as little as $100 and under. There is tons of variety on Chairish, which means you will get to scroll through all kinds of stuff before you find the right item for you — but that’s part of the fun, anyway. My favorite part about this site is that you can shop by style, and a few mirrors from their Industrial collection have been calling my name!
Rivet Steel Mirror – ($575) $393
Brooder Mirror Extra Large – ($450) $395
Etsy
We all love Etsy for its hand-made crafts, jewelry and artwork, but you can almost always count on stumbling across some great vintage furniture and decor items at great prices, too! While it sometimes takes a little extra digging, you can find these pieces at prices you’d never believe. One of my favorite parts of Etsy is the uniqueness and variety of items for sale — there are always great one-off and one-of-a-kind type pieces of decor that are sure to make a statement. Tip: Consider an antique door as a great DIY project for your laundry room or pantry!
Antique Door Knobs – $27
Vintage Blue Gray Door – $295
One Kings Lane
I constantly find myself perusing the pages of the markdowns One Kings Lane — there are some incredible deals! There is definitely something special here. The site always has great discounts, and not small discounts, either! We’re talking upwards of 50% off, and a lot of items have even steeper markdowns that just that. One Kings Lane has a fantastic original art collection, too, that is always worth a gander. A few items I’ve been eyeing can be found in the Rug and Linen collections.
Suzani Napkins – ($60) $22
Tucker Side Table, Antiqued Brass – ($560) $259
Handwoven Swedish Rug – ($850) $469
Local Markets
Your very best bet on getting great deals on unique furniture and decor is most likely right in your area! I always have the best luck finding vintage glassware at antique shops on Antique Row, on 7th Ave and Camelback (the Melrose District), or the Brass Armadillo in Phoenix. But, my very favorite thing to do as a Phoenix local is to visit vintage shows like the Junk In The Trunk Vintage Market that brings together dozens and dozens of vendors that are eager to share their vintage and antique finds with you. Simply Google a few terms like “vintage show” or “antique fair” and you are sure to come up with events coming to the valley soon!
